Our usual Saturday night's supplement published with the present issue of the Evening Post contains: —" Total Loss of the Steamship City of Hobart;" " Fatal Accident at Bath;" 'The Fun of a Trip from Auckland to Wellington ;" " Mr. Gladstone and Hobart Pasha;" " The Colonial Marriages Bill;" " Poisoning of Three Children;" " A Zoological Wonder;" " The Queen's Monograms;" " Russian Ladies and the War;" "A Clever Dodge of Turkey;" " Alleged Russian Atrocities;" " The Rising in the Caucasus;" "Extraordinary Robbery from a Train." An amusing scene occurred in the House yesterday afternoon. The Attorney-General (Mr. Whitaker), when answering a question put by Karaitiana as to the Native Lands Bill, spoke in accents more sweet and mellifluous than loud, and when he sat down Mr. Travers rose, and, after a preliminary "hem," addressed the Speaker as " Your Honor." 'When the laughter caused by this lapsus lingua had subsided, Mr. Travers proceeded to submit a polite request to Mr. Whitaker to speak a little more loudly. He had not resumed his seat a second before Mr. Whitaker solemnly took the floor, and in plaintive accents complained that he really did wish Mr. Travers would speak up, as he had not been able to catch even the drift of the honorable member's remarks. There was a grim irony in tho manner of the retort which appeared irresistibly funny.
