[reuter's special to pbkss agency.] Sydney, 24th August. The Edinburgh goes to Singapore to assist in repairing the cable between there and Madras. Tlic Agnes, another steamer in the same company's service, takes her place here. The Easby has arrived at Newcastle. 25th August. There was a lengthy meeting of the Cabinet yesterday, it is supposed with reference to the San Francisco mail service. # Melbourne, 25th August. The second mate of the Barrabool was acquitted of culpable neglect in the late collision, but was committed for trial for disobeying the captain's orders.
