By ft olerical error on the part oF the Press Agency iv the copy of a telegram from Lyttelton, the steamer Hawea was reported to have sailed at 7 p.m. yesterday. It should haTe been the Arawata. The s.s. Ringarooma, from Melbourne, with the Suez mail, is due at the Bluff to-night. The s.s. Kiwi left Napier at 5.30 p.m. on Monday, experienced strong S.S.W. breeze, and arrived in our harbor at 11.30 last night. She leaves again for the East Coast to-night. The s.s. Taupo, which arrived from the North yesterday afteruoon, brought the following passengers : — Mrs Allan aud child, Rev Mr and Mrs Dewsbury, Mr aud Mrs Travers, Messrs Tustin, Warren, Fuller, Cotter, Mees, Warner, Smith, and Andrews. She sailed again for the South at 5.30 same evening. The s.s. Tui, for the West Coast, via Foxton, sailed at 6 30 p m. yesterday. v The s.s. Arawata, from Melbourne, via the South, arrived in our harbor at 8.30 this morning. She cleared Port Phillip Heads at 2.40 p m. on the 14th instant, and passed Goose Island at 2.30 p.m. on the following day ; experienced light variable winds until thu 18th, on the morning 1 of which day she encountered a hard gale from the N.E., with high sea and thick- weather. ¦ At midnight on the 18th, Captain Underwood not beiug able to pick up the land owing to the increasing thickness of the weather, stopped the engines till the followiug morning, when she again proceeded on her passage, and arrived at the Bluff at 10 30 a.m. on the 19th ; left again at 5 p.m., and arrived at Port Chnlmers at 7 a.m. on the 20th; sailed at 4 p.m. on the 2ls»t, and arrived at Lyttelton at 730 yesterday morning; leftag-ain at 6 last evening, and arrived here as above. She brought a largp number of passengers and 20 tons of cargo for Wellington. We thank Mr. Miller, purser, for files and report. The Arawata sails for Nelson thi> evening, and will return in time to take the outgoing Suez mail on Friday nextThe p.s. Manawatu arrived in our harbor at noon to-day, after a run of 11£ hours from Wauganui She brought 1*25 -beep for Messrs J. and H. Barber. She reports two b-irques and a brig in the Strait, and the Australind off Sinclair Head. The Manawatu returns to Wanganui to-morrow evening. The s.s. Stormbird arrived in port at 11.45 this forenoon, making the passage from Wanganui in ll\ hours. She sails for Wangauui on Friday. The barque John Knox, for Lyttelton, and ship Horsa, for San Francisco", sailed this ] afternoon. ! The schooners Shepherdess and Saucy Lass, for Pelorus Sound, and the ketch Falcon, for Blenheim, got away this afternoon. I
