NEW PLYMOUTH. 9th June.

The Luna put in here for shelter. It is blowing a gale from the S.E. in the Strait. The water was scarcely ruffled in the roadstead. The Governor came ashore in a small boat. The Superintendent was on the beach to receive him. He walked with the Superintendeut through the town, and stayed two hours ashore, and then went aboard. Captain Fairchild says it was blowing a fearful gale fifty miles out. The Marchioness of Normanby was very ill. The Luna left for the Waitara about nine o'clock this morning, whence the Governor and suite will come up to town by train. The Vice-regal party will take up their quarters during their stay at Cottier's Masonic Hotel. They are likely to stay a few days till the gale subsides.
