CRICKET. Government Printing Office v. Lyon and Blair's.
A cricket match was played on the Albion Ground on Saturday, between elevens from the Government Printing Office and Messrs. Lyon and Blair's establishment, and resulted in a victory for the former by five runs and two wickets. The following are the scores :—: — ' ;

THE ATHLETIC CLUB'S SPORTS. The Athletic Club sports, of which we recorded the commencement on Saturday, were carried on during the remainder of the day, not concluding until near sunset. There .was a very good attendance, about 800 paying at the gate. Lord and Lady Normanby were among the spectators. The remaining events on the programme were decided as follows :—: — Hop Step and Jump. — Prizes, 30s. and 103. Afery, 1 (38ft. 9in.) ; H. Hickson, 2 (38ft. 2in.) • 220 Yards Handicap.— Prizes, 40s and 20s. lsiFHeat— A. Bishop (8 yards), 1 ; Donovan, 2. 2nd Heat- G. Park (5 yards), 1 ; Asher, 2. 3rd Heat— Webb (5 yards), 1; A. Nixon, 2. Final Heat— Webb, (5 yards), 1; G. Park (5 yards), 2. Time, 26 seconds. Throwing Heavy Hammer. — Prizes, 30s. and 10s. Farrelly (64ft lin) 1 ; Ford (58ft 2in) 2. 400- Yards Handicap.— Prizes, 60s. and 20a. Churton (12 yards) 1 ; Donovan, 2. High Jump. — Prizes, 303^ and 10s. Thompson and Avery divided the paizes, the highest jump being 5 feefc. Handidap Hurdle-Race (120 yards).— Prizes, 40s. and 205.. Ist Heat — Major (8 yards), 1 ; A. Campbell, 2. 2nd HeatBishop (scratch), 1 ; Baker, 2. Final Heat. — G. Bishop, 1 ; Baker, 2. One Mile Handicap. —Prizes; 60s. and 20a, Eleven men started. J.
