The schooner Day Dawn, from the Sound, with timber, arrived in harbor last night. Owing to the Hawea being a day late in leaving Auckland, her sailing South has been postponed till 3 to-morrow. On her way up she had to take shelter in Astrolabe Bay, which accounts/or her being late. She left Nelson for Picton at 11 this morning, and will arrive early to-morrow morning. Owing to the heavy sea, the p.s. Luna was unable to land the timber, &c, at the Brothers' Lighthouse, and returned to port at 1 o clock this morning. She leaves again either this evening or to-morrow morning, taking Sir ' Donald M'Lean to Napier. Messrs. Shaw, Saville and Co.fs ship Avalanche, from London, with 225 immigrants and 3 saloon passengers, is now 92 days out, and may be looked tor at any moment: The New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Commissary left Gravesend on 7th September for this port. She has a number of saloon, second cabin, and 'intermediate passengers, but no Government immigrants, and is also due,
