AUCKLAND. 8th July.
The charge of forcible entry, by a Thames landlord into his own property, for the purpose of ejecting a tenant in possession, was heard in the Snpreme Court to-day, and a verdict of guilty was returned. The Judge said the accused no doubt had been badly advised, and fined the landlord £15. The person who assisted him was fined Is. The ship Forfarshire encountered a severe cyclone on 9th May, which carried away her main and foretopgallant masts and several sails. ' The immigrants are all well. 9th July. Arrived— Tarauaki, from the South. The Mikado, with the outward mails, was detained till this afternoon, awaiting the Southern mails* The steamer Pretty Jane, wrecked at Poverty Bay, has been repaired. The saloon has been enlarged, and she is fitted with improved machinery. She made' a? most satisfactory trial trip, and left fo^ Gisborne yesterday.
