' Ulr Haltam worthily supported' the prima donna as Don < Manuel, and fiuirly ;divjd(Kf with her the chief , laurels /{or /rather' , ; bouquets) of the ni ght., jMe acted capitally, and 1 sang bea'atif ally, win'magsui irresistible encore in ","Ilwas rank and iame^.'r, HisT ,besfc effort of all was the' lasVsbng, "Wheii the ' King of Castile," which was splendidly jdeclajmed.. Miss Lambert .was V very pleasing' Carmen, and received; a T cordial , encore and several ' boqquets^fbr ' her: song ' "Love's » naughty Boy, MiaseijMay and' Lambert and Mr Hallam^ in. the laughing 5 ; trio, jointly obtained another no less jOor--~ dial encore. Mr'Rainford sang inftgnificttxtly, as Don' Pedro, and also was vigorously ; encored , in bis, songs "Hope shall leaa me on," and f,' Hark, th«^clarion sounding." .. He alsohad his sharejo^iqral 'offerings, Messrs Templeton and Ye'rnon' had small parts,, .but made',, the most of ' t'uem, and the, bacchanalian trio given ;by those gentlemen and "Mr "Kain ford was one ,of the greatest treats of the' evening, " The iustramental acoompanfments were excel' lent,. and, in short, there was not, a single drawback td mar the complete enjoyment bf this charming opera. ,( - ',_¦ , .
