Morrison, Sclanders & Co, rpHIS Company has been established as a X purely New Zealand institution, with all its funds retained and invested in the colony. It has a very large and influential body of shareholders distributed throughout the entire colony, who are themselves insurers to a very considerable amount, and consequently can influence a large business, thus adding to the security of the insured and the stability of the Company, the chief features of which are a liberal management, prompt payments, rates moderate, and personal responsibility of a large body of shareholders. 4 The company is now prepared to take risks both in Fire aud Marine Insurance at its various Branches and Agencies, and will commence Marine business in Australia and Great Britain as soon as arrangements can be made. BETHUNE & HUNTER beg to iuform tho merchants of Wellington and owners of Wool, Flax, Tallow, Hides and other Produce, that it is thnir intention to hold a public sale during the wool season every Wednesday, at 12 o'clock noon, at their old premises, the Exchauge, at tho Head of the Bay, Storage can be provided for 1000 to 1500 bales of Wool, with ample convenience for showing and selling to advantage. The lots will be put up in the order they are received into store, and wool will be lotted and placed on show for examination one or more days prior to the date of sale. In the event of a satisfactory price not being obtaiued by auction, arrangements can be made for granting an advance, and shipping wool and other produce to London on account of the owner. If notice is given in proper time, wool can be insured against risk of loss by fire, from the moment it is taken off the sheops back until it has been sold or shipped. Wool or other Produce will be received into store at any time, and retained until the owner comes into town, or sends instructions, and while there can be insured, if desired, against risk of loss by fire. It is scarcely necessary to state that the practice of selling wool by public auction has been followed with great success in the neighboring colonies of New South Wales and Victoria, and in the adjoining Provinces of Dunedin, Canterbury, and Auckland, and frequently results in the growers obtaining far higher prices than if they had sold by private contraot, or shipped on their own account. Due Notice will be Given of the Date of the First Sale. Wellington, 12th September.
