Christchurch, Sth May, 1866. rnHE Postmaster-General is prepared to X leceive Tenders for the supply and delivery of Telegraph Poles, as follows :— 1st — 100 Poles 25 feet long, 8 inches square at tho butt, find (5 inches at the top These poles to be charred for a length of 6 feet from tlie butt, and to be afterwards tarred over the whole length of tlie charring. 2nd— -5 Poles 27 feet loner, 12 niches square at the butt, an i 8 inches square at the top. These poles to be charred for a length of 7 IVet from the butt, and to be afterwards tarred over the whole length of tho charring. 3rd — f> Poles 35 feet lon er, 18 inches square at the bull, and 0 inches square at the top. The c poles to lie charred for a length of 8 feet from the bult. and to be afterwards tarred over the whole length of the charring. , 4th— The Poles to be cut out of Totara, Matai, or Kawai, to be sound, clean, straight, and free from sap. sth— The Poles to be delivered near the Maori Reserve ov Saw Mill, and convenient to the main road leading to Evans' and Lyall's Bays. The whole of the Poles to be delivered on or before the 15th of June next. Tenders may be sent in either for the whole or any portion thereof, but in lots of not less than 10 poles. Tenders to be addressed, " The Secretary of the General Post Office, Wellington," and marked outside, " Tenders for Telegraph Poles " Tenders to be sent in to the General Post Office, Wellington, not later than 11 a.m. on FRIDAY, tho 18ih INST.
