HARVEST HOME SOCIAL
To celebrate the completion of the harvest, a social and dance will be held in the Sedgemere Hall on Thursday. This function will be held under the auspices of the Hall Committee and no trouble is being spared to make it a rear worthwhile, joyful effort, Fred Smith's band has been engaged to play the music for the dancers, for whom there will also be the usual competition dances. Card players are to be well catered for. Supper will be the care of Messrs Free Bros, while Mr Atkinson will have a supply of ice cream and soft drinks. It will be seen that ail sections of the ; social are in capable hands, which will add much to the enjoyment of the evening. HOME GUARD MEETING Arising out of a suggestion made at last Saturday's meeting at Lakeside, a public meeting of residents of the Sedgemere district will be held in the hall at 8.30 p.m. on Friday of this week, for the purpose of forming, in conjunction with Lakeside, a unit of the Home Guard. In view of the importance •of .the matter, a large attendance is expected.
