WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The annual meeting of the Killinchy Women's Institute was held on Tuesday. There was only a fair .attendance of members. Jtfrs JUlen reviewed the year's work and thanked all members for the way they had helped to make the meetings the success they had been. The balancesheet presented by the treasurer, Miss May McClure, showed a good credit balance and the treasurer was complimented on her report. Mrs J. E. Millar was also thanked for her report on the fund for soldiers' parcels. Mrs Pilkington, of Southbridge, conducted the election of officers. The following wereJelected: President, Mrs A. Allen; secretary, Miss J. Lemon; treasurer, Mrs H. Riches; vice-presidents, Mrs K. Boon and Mrs I. C. Millar; committee, Mesdames Boon, I. C. Millar, J. E. Millar, McClure, Riches, Mcllraith, Misses G. Lemon, M. Allen, J. Lemon, R. Riches, and M. McClure; sales table, Mrs R. Mcllraith; competitions, Miss R. Riches.
Mrs Pilkington gave an address on institute matters. Mrs Allen thanked Mrs Pilkington for her talk and her assistance at the meeting.
Mesdames Pilkington, Ballagh, and Miss Sloan judged the competitions, which resulted: Large bloom, Mrs J. E. Millar 1, Mrs Boon and Mrs H. Riches equal 2, Mrs I. C. Millar 3; small bloom, Mrs J. K. Boon 1, Miss J. Lemon 2, Mrs J. E. Millar 3; posy bowl, Mrs Boon 1, Miss E. Millar 2, Miss J. Lemon 3.
Prizes were presented to the following for the year's aggregates: Large bloom and small bloom, Mrs Boon, miscellaneous, Miss G.
Lemon
Members of the institute served afternoon tea. A vote of thanks was passed to the Guardian. A meeting of the committee is to be held at the hall on Monday.
RED CROSS SUB-CENTRE
The president, Mrs J. E. Millar, was in the chair at the annual meeting of the Killinchy branch of the Red Cross Society. Several new members were enrolled. Miss T. Lemon presented the balance-sheet and an excellent year's work was revealed. Mrs J. E. Millar was elected president, Miss G. Lemon treasurer, and Mrs I. C. Millar secretary. Mesdames Allen, Riches, McClure, Misses G. Lemon and J. Lemon were elected to the committee.
Tomorrow evening the usual euchre and dance social in aid of the Hall and Library funds will be held, at Killinchy. Redway's Band is to play.
