PREPARE FOR PEACE
PLAN AGAINST A SLUMP Prepare for peace by setting up research laboratories in wartime plants "for their immediate conversion to peacetime uses at the end of the present emergncy," advises the new President of the American Association of Real Estate Boards, says the Christian Science Monitor. Inducted into office at a meeting of the South Central Regional Conference of the Association, Philip W. Kniskem, President of the First Mortgage Corporation of Philadelphia, made a strong appeal for this type of preparedness. "If we would even off, or perhaps prevent, the depression which usually follows a war," he said, "we must work and plan today— plan for the immediate conversion of plants-of-war to plants-of-peace so that men may continue working. "At that time we also will have the demobilised soldiers seeking steady employment. "Why not research laboratories within each war plant where men and women will work with only one aim, the seeking of peacetime products which that particular plant could manufacture?"
