DICKSON BOWL MATCH
Seven rinks from the Canterbury Centre will visit Leeston to-morrow for a match with the Ellesmere Association for the Dickson Bowl, j The Southbridge rinks in the Ellesmere team will be as under: | T. J. Carter, C. Tod, T. Griffen, G. M. Doyle (s); R. J. Parkin, W. C. Eggelton, R. Hannah, and D. Hayes (s). LEESTON CLUB The Leeston Club championships have now been finalised. The champion rink was found some time ago. In the singles, Creagh and T. Owens met in the final, and the former was successful. The finalists in the pairs were Creagh and Gwatkin and Sewell and Ormandy, the latter pair winning the championship. Handicap and otßer competitions are still in progress. Mr T. F. Owens has presented trophies to the club for a colts pairs competition. The committee decided that two rounds should be played for the trophies, the skips to make their own arrangements as to the games, which should be played as soon as possible. The pairs engaged in the competition will be: F. Owens and Armstrong, Gargett and Aiken, Bryce and A. A. McMillan. i
The green will be closed on Saturday, March 30, in conjunction with the closing day of the Association. Working bees will be held on the two following Saturdays. There is a good deal of work necessary to be done on the green during the off 'season to put it in order for next season.
