The annual meeting of the Lincoln Women's Institute took place in the Public Hall on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs A. H. Button presiding over a good attendance. The election of officers resulted as follows Mrs Arthur H. Button; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. W. Stewart, Q. Hartley, and W. D. Templeton; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Gordon S. Peryman; assistant, -Miss Irene Woods; committee, Mesdames A. Moreland, John Moreland, E. Carter, W. Page, W. H. Jordan, C. Moody, Chas. Watkins, S. C. Birch, Misses Noeline Ford, and Marie Mills; delegates to the annual meetv ing of the North Canterbury Federa- i tion, Mesdames A H. Button and J. W. Stewart; delegates to the Prebbleton Group, Mesdames A. Moreland and Gordon S. Peryman; auditor, Mr Chas. Howell. It was decided to have buffet afternoon tea at the meetings and to hold a committee meeting on Tuesday, April 11. A donation is to be made * to the Lincoln Public Hall funds, and an effort is to be made to help the Returned Soldiers' ■ Association with the sale of poppies. The competitions, which were judged by Mesdames C. Moody and W. Page, resulted as follows:—Senior division: Best bloom, Mrs Chas. Watkins and Mrs J. W. Stewart, equal, 1, ■ Mrs W. D. Templeton and Mrs Gordon S. Peryman equal, 2, Mrs T. J. Keast and Mrs Jas. Payne, equal, 3. Snapshot, best child study, Mrs Chas. Watkins 1, Mrs S. C. Birch 2, Mrs E. Carter 3. Specimen of quilting, Mrs Gordon S. .Peryman and Mrs W. D. Templeton, equal, 1, Mrs S. C. Birch 2, Mrs E. Carter 3. Junior division: Best bloom, Miss Irene Woods 1, Miss Noeline Ford 2, Miss Norma L. Peryman 3. Snapshot, best child study, Miss Noeline Ford 1, Miss Norma L. Peryman 2, Miss Lily Ford 3. Specimen of quilting, Miss Noeline Ford 1, Miss Norma L. Peryman 2. The competitions for next meeting will be for knitted bootees, bottle of y- preserved peaches, and best bloom. The roll call is to be a household The music for the institute song
was played by Miss Irene Woods, and the hostesses were Misses Noeline Ford and Irene Woods. There was a good attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the Star of Anglesea Lodge, Arch Druid Bro. Chas. Brown presiding. Sick pay to the amount of £3/16/8 was passed for payment. Mrs Thos. Hewton was a passenger to Dunedin by air liner on Wednesday. Mr and Mrs F. Foote and family have moved to Lincoln to the house recently occupied by Mr R. Inch. Mrs W. K. Muir has returned to | Lincoln after visiting Dunedin. Mr and Mrs R. Calder have taken up residence in Lincoln. Mr and Mrs W. Greenslade and family have left Springston to reside at Lincoln.
