ELLESMERE CHAMPIONSHIPS

from the three Ellesmere clubs gathered at tY\p Leeston bowling green on Saturday for the Ellesmere Sub-Association's championships. The rink games were taken first and these resulted in a win for the Leeston rink. The first match was played against Dunsandel, which resulted in a win for Leeston by 27 to 8 points. The final was played with Southbridge and here again Leeston had a good win—by 27 points to 12. Some matches in the singles and pairs were also played. In the singles, Doyle of Southbridge, beat Chamberlain (Dunsandel), after a close game, by 18 to 15. In the pairs, Tyler and Skinner (Dunsandel) played Ebert and Eggelton (Southbridge), the Dunsandel pair winning by 24 to 18. Leeston Club also found its pairs and singles champions. F. B. Clausen and H. Dalley were successful in the pairs and Clausen won three matches to gain the singles championship after , some excellent play. i On Tuesday evening Dunsandel will meet Leeston in the pairs firfal, while on Thursday, Doyle and Clausen will decide the singles championship. FOR NEXT SATURDAY Games arranged for next Saturday will include a representative match at Sheffield between Ellesmere and Malvern. Leeston and Southbridge will provide two rinks each and Dunsandel three. At the Canterbury Bowling Club's green on Saturday, Country Day will Ibe observed. Leeston will send one rink to town and it is almost certain the other two clubs will be repre-
