SCHOOL COMMITTEE SOCIAL
At the Sedgemere Hall on Saturday night the second of a series of five night card and dance socials was held in aid of school funds. Though the night was inclement there was a fair attendance. The most successful players were Mrs J. T. Parkin and Miss V. Stret^, Messrs M. pohio and R. Lambie. Music for the dancing was played toy Miss I. Teihoka, while Mr C. Marsh was master of ceremonies." p The remainder of this series will be run weekly, the next, on Saturday, and it is hoped that the committee will be supported whole-heartedly in the interests of the children. MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB The Sedgemere-Lakeside Miniature Rifle Club has fixed on November. 17 for its annual ball, whicH will be held in the Sedgemere Hall. Excellent arrangements have been made for music and catering and a feature of the evening will be the presentation of trophies won during the year, not only for club members but for the Ellesmere Miniature Rifle Association as well, Sedgemere being the centre for this season.
