OBITUARY

MRS M. McMANUS

Mrs Mary McManus,; whose death occurred at Christchurch on October 21, had been a resident of Leeston for 33 years, spending most of her; married life here. She was born in County Fermanagh, Ireland, in 1860 and came to New Zealand when a young woman, arriving at Lyttelton in the ship Rangitiki in 1879. She lived for several years at Balcairn, also atßurwood, before coming to Leeston "to reside. Her husband, Mr William McManus, died in 1931. There was a family of two sons, both of whom are dead. At the funeral, the Rev. Father Creed conducted the service at the church, also at the cemetery, and there was. a large

number of relatives and friends present. The bearers were Messrs D. Moore, P. Quinn, D. Gorrie, and H. Free.
