SCOTT-STREETEK WEDDING

A wedding that aroused much kindly interest in the Ellesmere district recently took place at the Gebbie's Valley Church. The bride was Jean, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Streeter, McQueen's Valley, Motukarara, and the bridegroom David, son of Mr and Mrs John A. Scott, well-known residents of : Burnham. j The bride was escorted by her father. Her lovely frock of white lace, worn over silver tissue, had a high medici collar and the skirt was cut to form, an oval train. A : heavy silver girdle was worn at the waist. A halo of orange blossom buds and small arum lilies clustered behind each ear held in position her tulle veil. The bridesmaids were Miss Eileen Streeter, sister of the bride, and Miss Phyllis Brooks, of Brookside. Their frocks of pink tulle over taffeta had Peter Pan collars and puffed sleeves. The skirts were banded with vari-coloured narrow satin ribbon. On their heads they wore wreaths of pink flowers from which fell shoulder length tulle veils. Miss W. Withell was organist and during the signing of the register Miss B. Coop sang a solo. At the reception about 200 guests were received by Mr and Mrs Streeter, assisted by Mr and Mrs J. A. Scott. Mrs Streeter wore a Forrester's-green costume with hat to match and carried a bouquet in autumn tonings. Mrs Scott was in a navy blue ensemble and her flowers were in lemon shades. The bride's travelling costume was navy with hat and accessories to tone. Mr and Mrs David Scott will make their home in Burnham. ! The Waihora Women's Hockey Club has arranged to hold its annual ball in the Motukarara Hall on May 31.
