SPORT WITH THE GUN
OPENING OF SHOOTING
SEASON
The weather yesterday morning proved to be too fine for the opening of the shooting seasn and most of the large, number of sportsmen who had taken up their positions on the lake shore and elsewhere, were disappointed with the bags. With very few exceptions the bags of duck were small, while many sportsmen were unsuccessful. Largenumbers of swan were shot, however, and the swan season is likely to be exceptionally good and these birds are very numerous this year. Pond shooting is also not as good as usual.
