APPEARANCE SPOILT BY MANNERISMS.
You know how aggravating it is to watch a girl chewing her lips while she seeks for inspiration. But are you quite sure she has never watched you doing the same thing?
He may be talking fast and not too distinctly, either, but there's no need to frown over it. Frowning soon becomes a habit—and a bad habit. Those little puckers will soon be permanent, and they're not very decorative.
You watch a girl absorbed in her book and quite unconscious of what her hands are doing. Unfortunately, other people are not, and nail-pick-ing is a most unpleasant habit. We hope it is not one of yours?
Nose-twitching is a nervous habit —one you may not even have suspected in yourself before. Watch for it, and make sure you don't do it. No doubt there's a good reason for rabbits doing it, but simply no excuse for you!
You may know someone who, while thinking things over, clinks her teeth with her thumbnail at the same time. "What a horrid habit!" you say, when you see other people doing it, which is an excellent reason for making sure you never do it yourself.
Don't let bad habits like the above spoil you. Watch yourself for any nervous habits—ask your family to tell you if you have any (they'll tell quick enough if you have!), then make up your mind to stop them.
