STATEMENT FOR JULY.

Estates of a value of £669,371 were reported and accepted for administration by the Public Trustee during July, compared with £520,153 for July, 1936. The total value of the estates under administration on March 31, 1937, was £60,770,814, and the new business for the four months ended July 31, 1937, was £2,014,574, compared with £1,975,014 for the corresponding period last year.

Grants of ■ administration made by the court in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 163 for the month.

During the month 360 new wills appointing the Public Trustee execu^ tor were prepared on behalf of testators and lodged for safe custody, and 301 existing wills were revised to provide for changes desired by testators. The total number of wills now held in the Public Trust Office on behalf of living persons is 89,103.
