On. Tuesday last football and basketball teams from the North Canterbury; . combined schools visited Leeston >to play games against the

Ellesmere combined schools. The visiting football team had much the better of the game and won by 26 points to nil. The basketball teams were more evenly matched, and an interesting game resulted: North Canterbury 17, Ellesmere 14. After the games the visitors were hospitably entertained to afternoon tea.
