DOYLESTON
HARD-UP SOCIAL TO-MORROW
There will be a real night of fun and frolic at Doyleston Hall to-mor-row, when a hard-up social, for which preparations have been in hand for several weeks, will take place. Doyleston has set out to eclipse any function of a similar nature held in the Ellesmere district in recent years, and the band of enthusiasts responsible for the organising work and the arrangements generally can be depended upon to provide a great evening's enjoyment. The designing of hard-up attire has claimed much attention during this week and those who have been entrusted with the task of awarding the prizes will find it a very difficult one.
To ensure a full evening's enjoyment for the modest admission charges of Is for ladies, Is 6d for men, and 6d for children, proceedings are to begin to 7.30 sharp. The dance music will be relayed from the Winter Garden, Christchurch, and a Monte Carlo has been included in the programme. A euchre tournament is another attraction. An appeal song will be one of the features. It is anticipated that there will be a full hall.
