SEDGEMERE
On Saturday night the fourth of a series of socials and dances was held in aid of school funds. There was a record attendance. The most successful players were Miss H. Marsh, Mrs A. Marsh, Messrs J. Lambie and J. T. Parkin.
After a plentiful supper served by the ladies, dancing was enjoyed until midnight, music being supplied by Mrs Lambie and Master A. Lambie, while Mr C. Marsh acted as M.C.
During the evening occasion was taken to present Mr and Mrs Henderson, as they are leaving the district, with a travelling rug.
Mr J. T. Parkin, on behalf of the residents, spoke of the good qualities of both Mr and Mrs Henderson, of their interest in the welfare of the school children, and of the assistance they had given in the various social activities of the district. Mr Henderson suitably acknowledged the gift and the good wishes which accompanied it.
