WOMEN'S INSTITUTE ANNUAL
MEETING.
Last Friday marked the close of the year for the Brookside Women's Institute, when the annual meeting was held. Mrs Joseph Brooks, Jthe retiring president, when vacating the chair, took the opportunity of thanking the office-bearers for their co-operation and good will. The secretary, treasurer and social convener furnished comprehensive reports. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs Joseph Brooks; hon. secretary, Mrs C. C. S. Candy; treasurer, Miss Joycs Candy; committee, Mesdames T. W. Brooks, W. B. Cunningham, A. McCallum, S. R. Boag, A. Croy, H. Gardiner, F. S. Candy, H. J. Hight, Misses A. Hall, M. Brooks, J. Brooks.
One resignation was received and accepted. The competition, an essay "What benefits I have derived from the Institute during the year," resulted: Mrs Joseph Brooks Ist, Mrs McCallum 2nd. Afternoon. tea was provided by Mesdames Lill and Hastings, after which a beautiful crystal vase, donated by Mrs Gardiner, was presented to Mrs Croy, the winner of the aggregate points for the year. The meeting then closed with the Institute song.
