ADVERTISE AND SELL.
"I am convinced that we possess in this country advertising and selling ability second to none in the world, and that, given the right goods, at the right price, it only remains for manufacturers and distributors to avail themselves of your aid to ensure that British goods regain that high position they occupied so long in the markets of the world."—The Prince of Wales, in a message to the Advertising Convention, held at Glasgow at the end of June. Sir J. Gomer Berry, in bis., presidential address, raised the question of whether those engaged in professions such as law and medicine should advertise. "Of recent years," he said, "the great banks and insurance companies have very delicately started grappling with this great business force— I believe that they can utilise publicity to a much greater extent —but "the iilaw, medicine, architecture, dentistry, members of the Stock Exchange, and chartered accountants hold themselves aloof."
