It will be remembered that as a result of the recent addition of 2d a gallon to" the petrol tax the retail price was advanced to 2/1 a gallon for first grade and 2/- for second grade. Anxious to assist farmers and motorists, the re-sellers in Leeston have decided to bear Id per gallon of the additional tax, and have accordingly fixed the price at 2/- per gallon for first grade and 1/11 for second grade, for cash. At a time when every penny saved is a consideration, the petrol retailers are to be commended for their action. . •
