i SPARROW AND CLAY SHOOTS. On its ground at Leeston the Ellesmere Gun Club held a sparrowmatch for a trophy given by Mr L. C. Lemon, and two clay sweeps. Watson (16yds)— 0000001210—3 Washbourne, with 9 kills, took the trophy. A six-bird sparrow sweep resulted as follows:—L. C. Lemon 5, S. Vince 5, T. Gordon 5, E. A. Washbourne 4, W. Quigley 3, D. L. McGregor 3, F. L. Graham 3, W. Winchester 2, G. M. Doyle 2, W. Hampton 2, S. M. Jackman 0. Those with five on divided the money. The scores in a 9-bird clay sweep were as follow: W. Winchester 9, F. L. Graham 9, W. Gilbert 7, D. L. McGregor 7, L. C. Lemon 6, S. M. Jackman 6, R. W. Jackman 6, W. Watson 6, R. A. Burgess 6, T. Gordon 5, E. A. Washbourne 4, S. Vince 4, G. M. Doyle 3. Winchester and Graham divided first and second money and McGregor and Gilbert third money.
