THE OPTIMISTS

AT LEESTON NEXT WEDNESDAY.

HIGH CLASS CONCERT IN AID OF PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

This morning the Rev J. C. Young received a copy of the programme to be presented at the Leeston Town Hall next Wednesday by the Optimists, a particularly talented combination of Christchurch performers. There are 24 items in all, and the organiser of the party, Mr Mark Richards, promises an exceptionally fine evening's enjoyment. The programme will comprise choruses by the Optimists, songs by Miss Clarice Cooper, Mr W. J. Spratt, Mr James Shaw, Mr J. L. Tennent, Miss Kathleen Bond and Mr Murray Jones, duets by the Happiness Boys (very clever professional entertainers), recitations by Miss Noare Hooper, violin solos by Robert Clarke (one of the best players in the city), quartettes by the Beckenham Four, instrumental solos, duets by Messrs Shaw and Tennent (both possess splendid voices). Altogether the programme will be easily the best submitted to an audience at Leeston for a long time.
