PLUNKET' SOCIETY
AN ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON
A very pleasant afternoon was spent in St. James's Parish Room, on Friday last, when the Southbridge branch of the Plunket Society held an At Home for members from all parts of the district, about seventy • members and friends being present. The room had been nicely decorated and a musical
programme was given. There ~ were violin solos by Miss Schnelle, songs by Mesdames Eggelton, Mackie, Coe and Edwards, duets by Mesdames Eggelton and Couch. An interesting Plunket competition was won by Mrs Coe.
Mrs Lochhead, as vice-president, made a presentation of a beautiful handbag to Mrs Chapman, in recognition, of her services as treasurer for the past six years. Mrs Robertson also spoke and gave some interesting fact's about Plunket work in other countries. Mrs Chapman briefly re-
sponded. Mrs Harte, general secretary, gave a resume of the last four years of the Southbridge branch's activities. The Southbridge ladies provided afternoon tea.
