BOOTH AND DANCE CATERING: The president reported that no tenders had been received for the right to conduct a booth at the sports, and he thought there would be no alternative but for the Club to run the booth on its own account. It was left to Messrs J. S. Brake and G. Aitken to attend to the preliminary,, arrangements for the booth. It was resolved that the Club should continue the booth at the dance on - sports night for the sale of ice cream and cordials. .Tenders are to be submitted for the.contract of supplying refreshments at tho dance, the secretary to accept the lowest. A^proposal to conduct a card match was abandoned, in view of the fact that it is intended to transfer the dart throwing game from the sports. The arrangement made with Mr A. Boyce to act as pianist for the dance was confirmed.

' Asked why the committee had changed the weight limits in the tugs-of-war, the president said that the sole object was to make these events more popular. The committee, had no animus against any particular team, and its decision would not have the effect of barring" any individual from pulling. The weights had been.amended in accotd-' ance with the conditions obtaining in the tug-of-war contests conducted by a I Christchurch sports body. ALLOCATION OF TROPHIES* I Letters promising to donate the. usual trophies were received from the Central Dairy Company and from the D.I.C. Arrangements were made for having the board put in order. . r . . . I Mr J. S. Brake suggested the inclusjion of a ladies' cycle race. The presi: dent considered that it would be too late at the present stage to add this event, as the poster had already^ been •issued for several weeks. It was stated that a ladies' cycle race had been tried in previous years, but had been discontinued on account of lack ■of support. The proposal was dropped. With regard to the Club's liability for possible accidents to spectators; the secretary reported that he had ' been supplied by a legal friend with a notice for display warning persons to keep beyond certain limits of the track ,and caber tossing ground, within which area the Club would not be responsible for accidents. , .-' Mr W.
