The Southbridge Cricket Club will hold its fortnightly social on Saturday night. There will be no stock sale at Leeston to-morrow on account of the Metropolitan Show, but a sale will be held on the following Friday, November I§. Schedules for the nineteenth flower show t>f the Leeston Presbyterian Church, to be held on December 6, have been printed, ancl copies are now available. A public meeting under the auspices of the New Zealand Alliance is advertised for next Sunday evening in the Leeston Town Hall, when the Rev. Samuel Lawry will give an address. In accordance with the wish of His Majesty the King, conveyed through the Government and the various local bodies, two minutes' silence will be observed at 11 o'clock on the morning of Armistice Day, Sunday next. At churches- where services ordinarily commence at 11 o'clock, they will open at" 10.45 on that day. Try Shaw first when you are not sick enough to see a doctor. H. H.
