CANADIAN WHEAT POOL
LARGE SUM DISTRIBUTED
SATISFACTION WITH SELLING
The largest interim distribution by the Canadian Wheat Pool, the total Of which exceeds 34,000,000 dollars (£6,800,000), has been paid to the provincial pools df Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta by the Central Selling A.geney.
Th^s is the second interim payment for the 1927-28 crop, the first payment of 15 cents (7_d) a bushel having been nlade on March 10.
Mr E. Eamsey, manager of the Central Selling Agency, said that as all "spreads" had been adjusted in this payment, and all deductions made for elevator and commercial reserves, carrying charges, and other items, the final payment at the end of the crop year would be a flat rate on all grades of wheat placed in the pool.
Mr Eamsey added that the 1926-27 crop had been difficult to market owing to heavy rains during the threshing season, and the 1927-28 crop, which was of large volume, but suffered from frost, rust, and excessive moisture, had been a greater problem. It seemed that there was general satisfaction with the manner in which the selling of the wheat had been handled and an aver-
