THE WHEAT POOL
FABMEE OWNED AND FARMER CONTROLLEp.
The Articles of Association of the Wheat Pool were devised by farmers for farmers. The '' Pool itself will be composed solely of farmers. Farmers, and farmers alone, will exercise' control. By reading the contract which is the basis of membership, _ farmers will see how rational the commitments are, how provision is made for payment to the grower soon .after the delivery of his wheaty how payments wili be made according to grade and quality, how the grower is safeguarded against the possibility (now remote) of the Pool being put into operation without sufficient acreage being represented by members, how growers' obligations to stock and station agents and others are met so as hot to interfere with existing financial arrangements—these and other pertinent matters are set put clearly for all to read. Read them carefully and no wheat grower will fail to realise that in the Whea Fool he will have an organisation which must become a power in the land in furthering the interests 'of farmers and in preventing abuses of recent years, which have caused seri-. ous losses to all who grow wheat.
The canvass for members, now being made, is meeting with great success, and the hearty support already afforded the movement augurs well for its success. Farmers who are alive to the " many benefits that will accrue by the Pool are also helping the movement so as to facilitate the canvass when it is ~' - made in their particular district. (S) :^k_-
