UNITED DEFEATS KAIAPOI.

A very enjoyable game was played at Lincoln on Saturday between teams representing Kaiapoi and United. In the first half United had the best of it, the half time score being 14-3. Towards the end of the second half, however, United began to tire, and with 10 minutes to go the scores were United [14, Kaiapoi 11. United, however, defended well, and there was no further score. For Kaiapoi, Becks played well and for United all played surprisingly well, considering they had been for ten weeks without a game. A. Powell played a great game. Mr H. Hosking ably controlled the game.

Later the Kaiapoi team and supporters were entertained by United at a dinner at the Lincoln Druids' Hall and afterwards at the evening dance of the Lincoln Kecreation Ground Committee.

The wind-up dance of the United Football Club for the season will be held on Wednesday, October 10, in the Springston Hall.
