PERSONAL

Mr John Marshall, a well known resident of Springston, has been seriously ill in the Christehurch Hospital during the last fortnight. He had to undergo an operation and his condition is causing the members of his family a good deal of anxiety. Mr Davidson Millar, of Leeston, who had his left forearm badly torn and bruised a week ago when dressing the fe^t of a young draught horse, was conveyed to the Christehureh Hospital last week-end by Mr T. C. McLachlan, to undergo special treatment. The wound has been very painful and it is likely to be some considerable time before Mr Millar will be able to use the arm.
