WHEAT POOL WILL PROTECT FARMERS
BENEFITS WIDELY RECOGNISED. All over the country whe. at growers realise that the proposed Wheat Pool is the only reasonable method of safeguarding their profits. The Poolcomprised entirely of farmers — offers a clear path out of the difficulties which have cost growers so many thousands of pounds. Unity is strength, and the co-opera-tion of wheatgrowers will effect a complete revolution in marketing^ No lon'ger will speculators wait for the glutting of the market in March, April and May, for the very simple reason that there will be no dumping. The Pool—which will have the very best selling and organising executives at its command—will control the market, retaining for the grower profits which have, in the past, gone to the speculator. Many unsuccessful attempts have been made to steady the market. These have failed through a lack of constant co-operation by all wheatgrowers. The successful operation of the proposed Wheat Pool demands a membership representing 120,000 acres. If wheat growers are sufficiently alive to the losses they have sustained in the past and the profits possible in the future, this membership will be easily reached. An organised canvass is now being made in all districts, for the purpose of giving farmers an opportunity to take shares which constitute membership of the Pool. (7)
