FANCY DRESS CARNIVAL
NEXT THURSDAY NIGHT
ELABORATE DECORATIVE
SCHEME.
As the night of the annual fancy dress carnival in connexion with St. John's Church, fixed for next Thursday, looms nearer and nearer, interest in the event heightens.
The Town Hall will be transformed for the occasion to represent a Parisian Boulevard in summer time. Those looking down from the gallery will view a scene of bright colours, moving in an appropriate setting. Discrimination has been shown in the choice of music, Lambic's Premier Orchestra having been engaged;
The picture donated by Mrs Friberg to be awarded to the married lady wearing the best fancy costume is a scene near Godley Lighthouse in a vivid colouring of bright sunshine. It is a glimpse of the gate-way of the keeper's cottage.
