THEY WERE SILENCED.
It was a noisy meeting of shareholders. The chairman called the meeting to drderj and, after an eloquent haraffgue, in which most of the important issues were skilfully avoided, he asked it there were any questions. A large individual, with a forbidding scowl, whom we will call Mr Murphy, rose ttf his feet and thundered: "What we 'd like to know, Mr Chairman, is what you did with the itfoney we gave you last year!"
At tLat moment a chair *feH from,the balcony abovs the stalwart Mr Murphy and considerably reduced his interest in the proceedings. His unconscious form was grasped capably and carried from the hall. After an eloquent silence the chairman asked quietly,. ''Are there any more questions ?",
