LEESTON STOCK SALE.
To-day's stock sale drew a good attendance, but, with the exception of sheep, entries were on the small side. A very healthy tone pervaded the sheep sale, both fats and stores meeting with good competition. There were very few store pigs, and the fats were mostly porkers and- light baconers. The cattle pens held very few head of stock. The outstanding sale in the sheep division was. a line of 152 s.m. ewes sold by the National Mortgage for Mr W. J. Hamilton (Lakeside) at 38/-, to Mr B. McLaehlan (Doyleston). Other Sllieep sales wgre: For T. Beck, 19 wethers 33/-, 10 at 29/10, 50 ewes in lamb 19/9; L. W. Prosser, 26. fat lambs 27/-; F. S. Candy, 68 ewes in lamb 26/9; 68 at 29/2; A. McLanghlin, 59 ewes 18/1, F. Christian, 25 fat wethers 29/10, 7 at 35/1, 2 ewes 24/10; H. G. Chamberlain, 62 lambs 32/7, 6 ewes 18/10; G. W. R. Osborne, 40 lambs 28/9, 81 at .28/7, 5 lambs 21/1; J. Coo, 18 lambs 32/4, 11 ewes 26/1, G. Nairn, S wethers 36/10; B. R. C. Rolls, 62 ewes 28/10, 61 at 29/-. Bacon pigs brought 68/6 to 87/6, porkers from 27/6, large stores. 32/6 to 48/-, medium from 24/-, weaners from 3/6. A springer brought £10.
