Constable W. A. Mackrell, of Southbridge, has been ordered to undergo a lengthy period of treatment in Christehurch far a throat trouble. Mrs T. J. Green, of Kiata, AVestland, who has been visiting Mr and Mrs S. Green, of Irwell, and other friends in the Ellesmere district, returned to the AVest Coast by Saturday's express. Mr and Mrs W. A. Nelson, of Waimate, formerly of Doyleston, have been spending a couple of days in Leeston as the guests of Mr and Mrs L. W. Hewitt. Mr Nelson recently sold his AVaimate business. Mr and Mrs E. J. Eddy, of Auckland, who have been visiting relatives and friends in this district during the last two months, left for the North Island last week-end. It is 25 years since Mr Eddy's previous visit to Canterbury. \_^--
