The semi finals and finals in the Ellesmere Lawn Tennis Sub-Associa-tion's tournament, which had to be t postponed from Easter Monday, owing to wet weather, were continued on the Leeston Club's courts on Saturday, under favourable conditions, with the following results:— THE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Ladies' singles—Semi finals: Miss D. Wright beat Miss Cunningham 6-2; Miss Gwatkin beat Miss McLaughlin, 6>3. Final: Miss Gwatkin beat Miss Wright, 9-2. Ladies' doubles. —Semi finals: Misses Gwatkin and Free beat Mesdames Lloyd and Rushton 6-2; Misses Forstef and Wright beat Misses Cunningham and McLaughlin 6-2. Final: Misses Gwatkin and Free beat Misses Forster and; Wright 9-2 i Men's singles.—Semi-finals: A. Stanley, beat Dr. Johnston 9-6; Watson beatMacpherson 9-2. Final: Watson beat Stanley 6-2. Men's doubles.—Semi-finals: Stanley and Sawyer beat Tweedie and Sheat; Dr. Johnston and O 'Connell beat Skurr and Macpherson 9-4. Final: Stanley * and Sawyer, beat Dr. Johnston and O'Connell 6-3, 6-0. Combined doubles—Semi-finals: Miss Gwatkin and Stanley beat Miss Macpherson and Macpherson 9-3; Mrs Rushton and O'Connell beat Miss Free and Jackman. Final: Miss' Gwatkin and Stanley beat Mrs Rushton and O'Connell 6-2, 7-5. HANDICAP COMPETITIONS. Ladies' singles.—Semi-finals: Miss Dyce beat Miss Forster 54-32; Miss McLaughlin beat Miss Gwatkin. Final: Miss Dyce, beat Miss McLaughlin 30-15 Ladies' doubles.—Misses Forster and Wright beat Misses Walker and Dunlop 30-28; Misses Gwatkin and Free beat Misses Moriarty and Curran. Misses Forster _n<F Wright have to meet Misses Gwatkin and Free in the final. .Ladies' singles, B grade.—Semi-fin-als: Miss Curran beat Miss Heslop 30-16; Miss Ferrier beat Miss Moriarty 30-26.
