THE LATE EARL HAIG
SOLDIER AND CHURCHMAN.
PKESBYTEEIAN TRIBUTE,
At the Presbyterian services held, in St. David's Church, Leeston, at St. James's, Brookside, and also at Killinchy last Sunday, the Eev. J. C. Young made fitting reference to the late Earl Haig, who was not only a great General, but also a devoted churchman, holding the office of Elder in the "kirk" which he' attended.
At the Leeston service Edgar Barrett's Highland lament "Coronach" was played by Mrs Young, and at Brookside Miss Jean Cunningham contributed the solo "Nearer my God to Thee." "Onward, Christian Soldier^"
one of Earl Haig's favourite hymns,
was also sung.
