SUB-ASSOCIATION COMPETITIONS.

FIRST ROUND CONCLUDED.

LEESTON FIRST GRADE MATCH.

The competition match between the Leeston No. 1 and Leeston No. 2 first grade teams, which was interrupted by rain on the original date, was contested last Thursday, when the No. 1 team gained a majority of eight games. This match concludes the first round of the competition, leaving Dunsandel, Leeston No. 1 and Leeston No. 2 leading, with one loss each. The second round commences next February. The following were the scores in [last Thursday's match, the members of the No. 1 team being named first:— Men's singles.—Leahy 0 v. Sawyer 9; Free 9 v. Stanley 2; Henderson 9 v. Jackman 8; Dalley 9 v. Johnston 2. I Women's singles.—Miss Cunningham 4 v. Miss Gwatkin 6; Mrs Dalley 1 v. Miss McLaughlin 6; Mrs Rushton 4 v. Miss Free 6; Miss Austin 6 v. Mrs i Lloyd 5.
