SWIMMING CLUB FORMED
CONTROL OF SCHOOL BATH.
ARRANGEMENT WITH
COMMITTEE
At a meeting of swimming devotees held on Tuesday evening, at which there was an attendance of about 25, a Club was 'formed to take control of the Leeston School bath. Messrs T. J. Fussell and J. C. Free attended and explained the attitude of the School Committee. Mr E. Burgess was elected president of the new Club, Mr K. Olliver secretary, and the following were elected a committee: Misses Ferrier and Chisholm, Messrs M. Eade and T. Grant. It was arranged that the pupils ! should have sole use of the bath during the luncheon period on school days, and for an hour after the dismissal of school. For the remainder of the day the bath may be used only, by members of the Club. The School Committee is to receive a levy of 1/6 from each subscription collected. Tfie amount of the subscriptions was fixed at 5/- for men and 2/6 for ladies, with half rates for pupils of the Leeston School.
