MR. R. JACKMAN HONOURED.

GATHERING AT. LAKESIDE.

A pleasant eveningf was speut at Mr A S. Grahams-residence,- Lakeside,' on Saturday .night, when Mr Boy Jackman, of-! the National Mortgage aiicl Agency Co., who has left this district, was hpnoiaxed by some of his friends. After: the public send-off which :Mr Jackman received last month, tlft.;cjpmmit|ee had a surplus in hand, and decided to make Mr Jackman a further presentation.

The ehairaian, Mr.-S, .Gtaham, who proposed,the toast of Our Guest, spok? of the popularity and many good qualities of Mr .Jackman'-. He was sure that Ellesmere people would miss him in many ways, and would rather grudge Christchurch its gain. The speaker asked Mr Jackman to accept a gift of a 'handsome.gold watch chain, in remembrance qf his Ellesmere friends. Mr Jackman suitably; ncknowledged
