ELLESMERE COUNTY CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING

i ~ , TAKES PLACE NEXT SATURDAY

Last Thursday there was a good muster of members of the Ellesmerc County Trotting Club at the racecourse, when a working bee was l&ld to put the track and appointments in order for next Saturday, when the annual race meeting takes place. All the arrangements are now complete and -a very successful meeting is expected. A special train will leave Christehurch for Leeston :it 9 a.m. and will return to Christehurch at 6.25 p.m. There will bo a frequent motor service between Leeston and the course. A luncheon booth will be conducted on the ground and the' Pipe and combined Brass Bands will a;; sist with selections. The race cards have been printed at the Guardian office and are now on sale. There are good field in all the events. The acceptances are as follows:—
