Creamery Social.
The anuual social m connection with the Southbridge Creamery was held m the Town H all on Wednesday. In common with other functions of a similar nature held under the auspices of the Southbridge Creamery, the social was an immense success. There was a very large, attendance, visitors being present from Leeston, Killinchy, Lakeside, and other parts of the Ellesmere district. The energetic committee consisted of the follqwing gentlemen —Messrs M. Twiss, A, greenwood, , [ A. McCartin, J. Maguiriness, J. McClelland, J. Hannah, G. Hamilton, D. Manson, and J. Wickhffe, secretary. The floor; was m good order for dancing, and the large number of gentlemen present made competition for partners rather keen, and none of the ladies had any chance of playing " wallflower." The dance music was supplied by Messrs W. 0. O wers (piano) and C. Thompson (violin), and gave every satisfaction. During the evening songs were sung by Messrs Q. 'Owers. E. G. Hubbard J. Victor, W. Loehhead, C. Thompson, and Mrapson (a), and a step dance was acceptably given by Messrs Hbrne and Shierlaw. Extras were played by Messrs Slattery and T. Allen. Dancing was kept up merrily until the small hours of the
morning. The refreshments were under the charge of the Misses Hampton, and among those who took a hand m helping with the dispensation of the many good things we noticed Mesd^mes Hantz. Beamsley, and others. 'The fadjeij all deserve special mention for the willing help they gave m this direction. The members of committee who looked after the door were
Messrs Twiss, Greenwood, and the secretary, Mr S. J. Wickliffe. These gentlemen report that the social was a decided success financially. At the ponclusion of the social, Mr A. j^reenweod, one' of the directors, returned thanks on behalf of the promoters. He was glad to see so many present, as it showed they took an.interest-in it. He specially thanked the ladies for what they had done m connection with the social. The secretary, Mr S. J Wickliffe left no stone unturned to carry his part through, an~d it is almost needless, to add that his efforts were successful! Mr G. Hamilton acted asM.C.
