Concert at Lincoln.

One of the most successful concerts that has taken place m the district was held m the Druids' Hall, Lincoln, on Friday evening last, for the purpose of raising funds for painting Saint Stephen's Church, Lincoln. The audience was most appreciate, and the various items on the programme were given by the performers iv a most artistic manner, -fcncores were the order of the night, so that it would be difficult to make a distinction. The following lodios and gentlemen took part;— Mrs Thorpe gave the pianoforte solo, 'Home Sweet Home/ which wan loudly applauded. The glee, ' J? 6 Cuckoo,' was well sang by a parly, while m the violin solo the Masters Dunn received applause for their efforts. The songs contnbu/ed by Mr C. WrJßnt, Mr Miller, who both gave two items, were loudly encored. Mr Pemberton contributed two recitations which took with the audience. Miss Garforth contributed a. violm solo with great success. Misses Irving and Todhunter gave the vocal duet, 'Friendship,' which was also encored } and MissTodhunter's songs— one m each part— met with more than mere approval. Mrs Bartram also aana well, and iv tho duet with Brake, again thoroughjy won the praise of the audience, as did Airs gookson m her sang. One of the bestiteras of the evenlug was the ren-leiiuguf'The * Three Old Maids of Lea ' by Mi^ilrake, Garforth, aud lhorpe. mis was remarkably well done, and was encored. Several plantation songs were ais'si given by a company, aud the who'e conceit was iv every way a success. ."
